Spacegram studio has created a wealthy and enveloping house for his or her second enterprise with Restaurante Nómada, positioned within the centre of Lisbon’s vibrant buying district. Accomplished in October 2020, the 150sqm eatery is an immersive eating expertise that displays the playful sensibility of the menu, a mixture of Japanese delicacies and European flavours.

Materiality and sculptural parts have been key to reinterpreting the unique barren and vault-like interiors. With a restrained palette of rusty crimson hues – impressed by the Japanese shade of aka – and pure supplies of wooden and marble, an overarching sense of heat and quiet sophistication might be felt throughout three distinct areas.

The doorway is thru a tunnel emitting a tender glow that acts as a transitional threshold main into the cocktail bar. A {custom} black steel staircase and bar are the point of interest right here – their clear, geometric strains defining this primary intimate house.

On the decrease eating degree, a naturally lit, elongated house homes the sushi bar. The dramatic vaulted ceiling attracts the attention as much as the centrepiece of the room, a neon gentle fixture designed by Ian Yurisch in collaboration with Spacegram. Informal eating is imbued by the composition, a nod to Japanese minimalism, with 4 tables sitting with a direct view of the restaurant’s sushi kitchen. Rojo Alicante stone and unique pine floorboards painted an identical rust-red color contribute to the monochromatic scheme. Offering an accent alongside the hues of aka the chairs, custom-designed by Spacegram have velvet upholstery in classic gold color.

Mirrors punctuate the house permitting friends to catch glimpses of varieties and textures they could have missed.

The signature house is probably the most absorbing and intimate of all. Aptly named the ‘Cocoon Room’, this enclosed inside is enveloped in rippling wooden panels, produced by MtWoods, echoing the pure aquatic world. Strip lighting alongside the highest of the curved lounges highlights the feel of the ripples. The hand veneered panels curve on the prime revealing a gap with a vortex sculpture hanging from the ceiling. Signifying nomadic water journey, the sculpture captures gentle and shadow because it strikes within the house. A cavernous, cosy personal eating house sits simply off the cocoon room for an much more immersive eating expertise– an important spot for occasions or particular tastings.

Otherworldly and experiential, Spacegram’s design captures the ethereal power of journey and nomadic life, whereas highlighting pure supplies in a stunning approach.
